mini BUMP

c'mon folks...this event supports a good cause and should be tons of fun. I've heard that DaKineMINI, bgrpph and erik808 will be at the event. If I had a helmet, I'd be there, but then it would be all over after that!!!!

bgrpph 06-13-2005 11:00 PM

Keiki, I've got an extra helmet that i'll bring for you. We NEED more MINI's out for track day. Its only $25 for a 15 minute run & you'll have tons of fun.

keikilee 06-18-2005 06:59 PM

ok, ok, so how do people sign up for this event? I talked to Kohu`ulaMINI today and he said that he'll sign up, too!!!!

So that's 5 MINIs!!! Who else is in? is there still space? DakineMINI or bgrpph, can you check for us and let us (mostly me) know how to sign up?

JCW04 - How about you? C'mon!!!!

bgrpph 06-18-2005 07:22 PM

Keiki, to sign up for the 7/10 track day send an email to Ed kemper and tell him you want to add your name to the track day run, give him you name type of car. Also ask to be put on email list so you'll get the info.

Alright!

Folks, let's keep in mind that unlike past Short Course Time Trials (I think that's what they call "Track Day" now) events, you WILL have to work at this one. That means it's basically an ALL DAY thing. I'll have erik808 chime-in on this but it might mean white colored long sleeve shirts (dark colored shirt may be mistaken for a flag) and long pants too.

How about kbseto? He needs to get his baby on the track.

keikilee 06-18-2005 11:07 PM

hmm....keikilee where white? I dunno about this!

yah, I'm just checking with the ex to see if he can spend the day with my son so that I can commit to the entire day. I'm pretty sure it should be ok. I'm just worried about "working". I've never done this kind of stuff before, so I hope I don't look like an idiot doing whatever it is that I'll be doing.

I might be giving you the wrong information so I asked the 'bossman' to chime-in and clarify (hopefully he does - not much of a NAMer anymore) but I think the "usual" SCCA Track Marshalls are working too; therefore, the Track Day folks would only be helping out the event (collecting tickets, directing spectators, etc.). If that's the case, you may not have to wear white (I think the SCCA Track Marshalls have to wear light colored slacks too, at least I had to at the J&N event).

Hi, gang! Thanks a ton for the heads-up, Dirk!

JULY 10th ( http://erik808.com/Video_clips/video222.mpg ) will have afternoon sessions called:

SCCA SCCT (Short Course Club Trials)

Basically, it'll be like this (9:01):

http://erik808.com/Video_clips/video01.mpg

Usually, each trialist would be given 2 15-minute sessions (50.00; 25.00 for workers). However, come July 10th, each trialist will be given 1 15-minute session (25.00 -- must work half of that day).

Chances are, this half-day work session will consist of merely being issued a radio (a "walkie-talkie") to usher spectating vehicles in and out of HRP with fellow half-day workers/SCCT racers. To my knowledge at this time, no special attire will be necessary.

Yes... per Barry's precise post above, please e-mail Ed K. should you want to participate.

I coordinate SCCT so e-mail me ( erik_tanaka@hotmail.com ) anytime (I'll participate in SCCT myself come JULY 10th)...

Hope that that helps and have a great rest of this weekend, gang!

Sincerely,

Erik #7 H Stock

 I just found out that I'm flying out for a week the day after this event at 6a! My trip will tap out my baby-sitting resources, so I'm going to have to pass on this driving event! ugh...I'm so bummed!

I had to write Ed K. and let him know I can't make it either.  I'll be off-island starting that day. I'll have to get my fix from the upcoming July 24th Super Lap.

Keiki you should get your track desire out of the way by attending this Sunday's auto-x.

I wish I could, but my parents are hosting an all-day-long family reunion (8a-8p) BBQ on Sunday.

Kohu'ulaMINI 07-02-2005 03:30 AM

I had planned to attend this benefit event but too many conflicts with scheduling that day.

A 15 minute track session is valuable seat time lost and we're running out of track days:sad:

minihune 07-02-2005 05:59 PM

OOOppps- too many juicy MINI events for July 10!

OK folks looks like only-

Erik and Barry will be able to drive their MINIs for July 10th.

Both of you and all MINI enthusiasts are invited to join the rest of us at the Hawaii Pulley party at Tiresdirect in Salt Lake after your event at HRP.

I'll be busy that day at Tiresdirect from early to late.

The dealership also has planned a MINI and a movie for 11am to 1pm with food. So that makes it three events for sunday.
