do gp owners prefer armrest to no armrest?

Hi all, mini gp number 1905 is on its way in a couple weeks now and I am thinking of adding a factory armrest from the jcw. If it was standard would you want this in your gp?

I've had an armrest in every MINI so far, but not in the GP. Surprisingly, don't miss it at all. Perhaps you can give it a try for a week or two without the armrest and then decide.

I have not had an armrest in either MINI nor do i miss it. My right hand is usually on the steering wheel or the gearshift.

Decided to get one as it will be driven daily. Had one in my previous jcw and liked it.

I am glad they didn't put the armrest in the GP. I've driven JCW's with it installed and it's constantly in the way for me, I never rested my arm on it. If I had an automatic? Probably.

I found in my previous jcw it was nice to lean the edge of my elbow at the end of the armrest on freeway driving, whilst still holding the wheel with both hands, if it wasn't going to be used daily I wouldn't have bought it. Dealer Sent me a pic of it installed with also the carbon lever installed. Still 2 weeks away from delivery.

MarioKart,

Where did you purchase the secret compartment for your GP? Can you tell me what the part number is? was it easy to install?

Thanks

It was actually out if crashed Mini and install is about an hour, less if you know where to find the little hidden screws. It was actually changed when I installed an Alcanatara Dash, armrest and A-Pillars. I have no idea why the GP didn't come with the compartment. BTW I also reinstalled the GP logo where the new Secret Compartment goes

The only time I found myself missing an armrest was on the 12+ hour all-highway drive home from picking up the GP.

Otherwise, nope. Don't miss having an armrest at all.

I prefer no armrest. It allows me to use the rear cup holder for a bigger water bottle. On my previous MCS I ordered it but do not miss it on the GP. Also, I think the interior looks better without it. Less clutter.

Just did MTTS and used one of my pillows for an armrest when I needed it. Really didnt even use it much just on the long stretches when I wasn't racing around lol
