0173, I took delivery today!

I did it, and I am so glad I did. Yes, I removed all the decals except the GP on the hood scoop. My MA helped me, it was a crazy scene I only wished I had video of the event. I am also replacing the mirror caps with carbon ones to match the rear wing. I have owned more then a handful of 911's starting with a 78 SC Coupe and I still own a 96 C4, which I love--last of the air cooled cars and the end of my relationship with the 911. I traded my 2012 Cooper S Hardtop for this car, which I owned for a year and it gives me, I think a better perspective of what this car is all about. I drove the car back today from an out of state dealer so I put a little over 100 miles on it. My first impressions are these. The car is crazy tight, everything is locked down. The handling is super quick and so responsive, and sooo much fun to drive. The leather dash is beautiful along with the rest of the interior. Fit and finish all around the car is second to none, I am so impressed. I think the exhaust sounds great, nice and throaty and I don't find it to loud inside the cabin, I think it sounds just right! I'm looking forward to spending time in the car and will report back after the break in period has past. The car came with an extra number decal in the glove box which I thought was interesting.

Congrats on a great car. I was lucky enough to get to test drive 0055 before I ordered my JCW.

Congratulations!

About the number stickers, each North American car has 3. One for the roof, one spare for the customer, and one held at MINI USA HQ as a last resort if needed.

Yes, there was an extra in the glove box!

I fail to see the significance of the number stickers and the GP. I took delivery of mine with my number affixed to the roof and was handed two additional decals. Since there is no connection between the number on the roof and the VIN, why is the number so sacred? I understand there are only 500 stickers in the US. But is a worm hole going to open up if I lose my stickers?

Congrats. I agree wish the numbers actually were related to the production of the car

You can find out your actual production number. Go to the mini facebook site. Send them a pm asking for your production number and give them your vin. a couple of days later they pm you back the production number (which bears no resemblance to the artifical USA numbers).

Congratulations!!

I have a new MCS on order but found a GP with 2k miles for $5k off MSRP. I'll be checking it out.

I had a 2012 MCS with a sport package. It was my first mini and it was a great little car. I traded it in with 4000 miles on it towards the GP. If the used GP is a legit car, no accidents etc, I think you should purchased that car ASAP. You will not regret it for a second. I won't get into details because this forum has talked about it a lot, but it is a HUGE step up in my opinion for the MCS. I can't remember the last time I have driven a car that is so much fun to drive! Let us know what you do, and good luck.
