Is that a harness bar back there?

Any confirmation of whether or not that brace that replaces the rear seats can function as a harness bar?

No. The red bar is NOT structural.

Ah, damn. Hopefully they put some stickers or something on there to warn drivers.

1. Not knowing the structural/technical requirements for a harness bar, I'd guess that the lightweight OEM bar could be replaced with a stronger one to qualify as a harness bar. I'ii ask Grant Barclay (Built by Bones)

2. With no slot below the headrest, what kind of harness works with the Recaro seats?

1. The red bar itself is not the problem. It's actually quite solid. It's just not connected to the frame.

2. My two cents here. If you're going to the trouble of a real racing harness, I would recommend going with a real race seat that works with a 6-pt harness.

So has anyone installed an actual harness bar for the GP2?.

That bar is held in with 2 bolts 1 on each side and is very light, the bracket is welded to the side inner panels...I wouldn't put my life on that bar, lol

Agreed!
Was wondering what anyone else does use for an installed, separate bar for the GP. I don't want to replace the seats - so any options?
Thanks!
