GP Sighting (Oct. 1st, I-90 = yours?)

It was 5:15pm, a couple miles south of Rochester on Interstate 90. I was southbound driving the dirty but happy (coming back from autox) hyper blue / white S. The GP was driving northbound.

First I noticed a mini. Then I looked closer.. Bulbous red ears. A big racy spoiler! It's a GP! I got goosebumps.

Thing looked very pretty, I'm a big fan of the GP by now. First time I've seen one "in the metal." Hope to see them more often, hopefully at autocrosses next year. :)

If that was yours, please speak up!

Not mine, but I90 goes east-west, not north-south.

RedSkunk 10-02-2006 01:45 PM

 OK. The GP was westbound, I was momentarily going east until I could snag a suitable route south.

Thank god that was resolved!

Odd numbered interstates are N/S (I-95, Florida to Maine) Even numbered interstates are E/W (Route 66, From somewhere to out west :))

haha.. but only I-287 goes north, south, east AND west! (N/S in NJ, and E/W in NY)

Redskunk - there are at least two GPs (who are inclined to appear at meets & rallies) farther east on I-90 (near the greater Boston area ):

It wasn't either me or Dave.
It might have been George - he'd planned to go to the Bavarian Auto Show in NH and lives down on LI ... but I don't know if he went in the wet weather (I guess I should ask him!)

Peter - great picture; would you mind emailing me a higher-res version for my collection? :)

:) Ian - are 1200 x 800 big enough? such as these:

GPMINI 1

GPMINI 2

GPMINI 3

GPMINI 4

If not, I can email you the 8.2 megapixel  original files.

That would be at the other side of NYS. If the GP was westbound on I-90 in Rochester, the next big city is Buffalo. From there it's either on to Cleveland or head north to Canada.

Thanks Peter - those are plenty big enough :)
