Luggage Bar

Two things:

1. Is there any reason NOT to remove the child restraint thingy from the bar?
2. Is there a good way to remove the scratches on the bar?

Thanks.

I've had customers drill out the rivet and slide it off the bar. But you have to remove the rear panels to unbolt it on the end to do so.

If you drill out the two holding it together (i think) would it spread and come off the bar that way? It isn't really worth (to me anyway) taking everything apart.
