GP's with no A/C

As I recall, A/C was a "no cost" option on this special edition.

For those of you who went that route, any regrets from a fogging standpoint?

A/C units, as I understand it, are engaged to remove moisture when defogging is needed on the windshield and windows.

I'm guessing just air, not recirculation, does the trick...

Thanks much.

I don't have an a/c less GP, but am old enough to have driven non-a/c cars in the winter plus in northern Ontario. You get fog and ice on the windshield and you basically have to wait until you have some heat from the engine making hot air for the defroster. It takes a while, but works eventually.
Cars with a/c can get the job of defogging done much more quickly.
If you have no heat and no a/c, then you will have a problem.

Thanks Aspen. Yes, I'm old enough to have done the same... I think a Porsche 914 being the last car of mine with such (no A/C)...

I am curious if MINI did something in particular for the GP's with no A/C to help with the fogging issues; or the official recommendation on how to combat fogging.

Unless someone can refute it, I believe the "no cost option" meant that it was included in the price. It's doubtful that any came in w/o A/C.

GP cars were all pre-spec'd by MINI....NOT CUSTOM ORDERED....batch built to the same spec and options unless I am remembering something wrong.....

Thank you both. I recall someone with a GP without an A/C so I just assumed he ordered it that way. With what is being shared here, it now seems that he removed the A/C himself...

All spec'd the same except the good ole US of A would not allow us to have the Euro Spec Recaro seats...... So we got cloth, lol! I think it was because they did not meet safety specs if I recall due to not having airbags but don't quote me on that

Yea, think it was for the airbag system not be ok'd with DOT or tested for that vehicle . Something along that line, The Euro seats were the older Recaro design. Here is the RHD version of the two tone. And the GP red stitched full leather.
