Any GPs For Sale

A little info about the NJ GP and the one in WA don't know dealer name, they were both purchased at auction and were part of the Mini takes the states tour so the cars have been, shall we say driven hard. So beware of those two. Also there is one in So Cal with 10 mi it hasn't been driven since delivered and sitting for a year with no gas saver in the tank will cause problems throughout the fuel system.

The car in solcal with 10miles on it I think is still a worthwhile car. Yes the fule may have sat, but not for THAT long. If it was a couple years, might be a different issue. A good shot of premium fuel, with some injecotr cleaner and it should be good to go! I do agree on the other two, at Northwest MINI and NJ. They are both rough in price point, but I will say the one in the NW was nice in person to look at. Seemed to have been well cleaned up or maintained.
Sidenote the market on these is going UP for sure. Also, the one that sold recently for $28k with 1000 miles is still a fluke. He needed it gone like that day and it is nice that another NAM member got the car at that price. But I do NOT think it is indicitive of where the market is heading.
Good luck on the search!

Thanks everyone for the response. I really would like to purchase a GP but it seems hard to find one that has not been taken across the states, or has damage. The other option I was thinking about is to upgrade my MCS with the JCW package. The kit with installation would cost me ~6,300. Any suggestions? Should I wait to find a GP or go ahead with the upgrade to my MCS 2006?

OK WAIT! A GP is a GP, but if you simply want to have a faster MCS, then you can get a LOT in the aftermarket (from me or any of the other vendors here) for a LOT less money. Even BMW recently conceeded that the cost of the JCW kit on the R53 was "cost prohibitive" to many buyers and thus they have tried to keep costs down on the R56 versions. My point is this, if you want a GP hold out and find a good one. (I just did! Mine had only 200 miles on it when I bought it. I paid a bit of a premium but it is a piece of MINI history. You can find one as well if you are patient!)
Good luck in whatever you do, but PLEASE let me know if I can help in anyway!

I purchased my MCS in VA and drove it across the States to get home. Still runs fine. Motoring, it's not just for non-GPs anymore.

Yes, I intend to drive it. The concern is that a car with 9,000+ miles on it that participated in MTTS is that it was not broken in properly. Some car manufacturers such as Porsche breaks in the engine prior to installation. If a car is not broken in properly you might see problems earlier than expected.
So, yes I will drive the car every day, but I will keep my 1962 classic mini only for dry sunny days. No puffy clouds please

Some have gone for 27k some for 30k. Some Dealerships want $35k+ Id say the one you have would probably fetch around $32-$33k

Depends on what you want...

There are three of the GPs referenced here. But why be bummed about a cross country trip? If the car's got miles, had to get them somewhere. With only 415, there's a more than small chance that it will have a premium price point for quite a while...
Can you sell you current car, add $6300, and move to a GP, if yes, go for it!

Would most likely be worth more if you didnt paint it.. Plus, you own a MINI shop, you should know a ballpark figure.

He owns a shop for mods and aftermarket stuff.

I followed a rather interesting Mini through Highway 154 in Nothern Santa Barbara County a couple of days ago that definately was not your run of the mill car.
No badging, rear brake lights taped up almost completely, and following the new V8 BMW M3, very closely and quite quickly.
My wife and I took some video and pictures with her cell phone and the drivers of the above cars were more than a little purturbed at our attentio and picture taking.
I'll try to post the pictures or video when I figure out how to get them off my wife's phone.
Maybe it was the '09 50th anniversary Mini. Maybe the next GP?
