Asking big favor. Help sought. I am currently on the island of Kauai in Hawaii and am attempting to buy a car on the mainland, i.e. in Connecticut. The seller, a generic used car lot owner, does not know how to identify what options the car has. I have the VIN number and wonder if you are an employee of a MINI dealer or have a friend who is, could you please run this VIN number and tell me how this car is configured and what options it has? Sorry to be dependent on the kindness of strangers ,but I think I want to buy this car but can’t make an intelligent offer if I don’t know what it is made of. Thank you in advance. Steve

I would call 877-ASK-MINI, explain the situation, and see if they can look up the VIN and tell you what the car is spec'ed with.

My local mechanic was able to get the complete build sheet for my MINI through a dealer.

Just get the VIN# and call a dealer for this info (or ask-mini)

Is it in CT? MAybe one of your fellow NAMer's can swing by and take a look.
