I've noticed that MINI owners seem to be a special breed and OCD is definitely one of the prerequisites. Also there seems to be a certain type of humor that the owners all have -- from the naming of the car to the stickers that people put on them. I think I probably should have had a MINI a long time ago. Have you decided on a name for your car yet?

Yes...agreed. I should have owned one a long time ago as well...but now with the AB, glad I waited. I'm naming the car after my German Shepherd's sire - The Black Rook. I'm sure I'll have a "pet" name for it after I've driven it. Not sure until then.

I think the Pink stars and interior are going to look amazing!

They are JCW Grille side scuttles. I ordered them when I ordered my car and the dealership put them on. Try going to your local dealers website and ordering. I think they were kind of pricey.... They are new so I'm not sure you'll be able to order them from any other vendor yet.

Got me some silver stripes on my AB/AB. Taken with my cell phone, sorry for the crappy quality. I'll take some real pictures once I get some new wheels/brakes/springs/tires.

You have to have an IMG code. Load pictures onto photobucket or flickr and copy the image code into the reply box.

So I noticed this afternoon that I have these strange looking spots on my bonnet. They look like something stained the paint but I've only had MINI for three weeks and it's been washed twice and nothing has rested on the paint long enough to stain it.

My husband and I both tried using some wax and that didn't take it off. Has anyone with AB experienced this? The weird thing is that I still have cosmoline leaking out of the bonnet in two places and I'm wondering if it flicked up onto the bonnet while I was driving and stained the paint.

Is that possible? I'm VERY upset.

That does sound strange. I've not had anything like that occur, but if it were me, I'd call Mini and take it in for them to see. Maybe they could buff it out for you?

blackdelight, don't be too upset, take it to the dealer and calmly explain that the appearance is unacceptable, and see what they can do. Most dealers are pretty good, and if you're anywhere near Pittsburgh I know James in Service will take good care of you, or do as much as mini allows him to - they're great there. Good luck!
