The R56 finally! The grey one is the one my fiance drives most and i am in love with the R56. I love them bithbreally but the R56 is getting the most after market attention. Want to up grade the stock i tercooler and instill a down pipe. Suggestiins on what parts to ise? What are some good modifications others suggest to start off with as I'm new to modding? Also what kind of tunes do you all recomend? All suggestions greatly appreciated!

What year? There are some differences between early 2 gen and later 2 gen.

before mods, make sure the basics are taken care of like the timing chain, water pump, thermostat, water pump pipe, turbo oil feed line, and in some cases, the oil filter housing gasket.

Thank you

Thanks for the advice. I will definitely focus on that first. I actually just did the oil filter housing gasket as well as valve cover gasket.

I got a Helix intercooler. When I took it out of the box, it was so shiny and beautiful I wanted to order another, just to hang on the wall and look at it.

I also got a catless downpipe,

You will want a tune to get the most out of these, I have a Alta/Cobb Access Port, but unfortunately, they no longer make them. Someone else will certainly come along with recommendations for a tune.

Another really good thing to get is a turbocharger wrap, it insulates the hot side of the turbocharger, increasing its efficiency and significantly reducing your underhood temperatures.

Thanks Dave

Awsome! I will definitely have to look into that

The first bang for the buck mod I'd do is the powerflex lower engine bushing as it reduces engine rock and helps get the power to the ground, you will really notice it.

then for the intercooler I use the Forge on my Clubman and GP2 and they fit right and really lower intake temps as you will notice it will feel like 10hp.

and install our res delete pipe with it

Since you have an 09 you have noise maker, so doing the delete will be a nice mod and help throttle response

For the downpipe if you want catless the Milltek is bargain for the buck, and has a complete cast top flange with the pipe to keep it reliable.
