The Proper Cuppa for a Cooper

The Proper Cuppa for a Cooper
My boyfriend and I like an afternoon cup of tea when we’re on a road trip. Of course finding any sort of traveling cup that’s reasonable for tea and still fits the cup holders in his 2009 Clubman was nigh unto impossible. Fortunately he found that the cup from an old Stanley thermos fit the cup holders fairly well and was able to use that, but I ended up drinking my tea from the thermos. Hardly a “proper cuppa!”
Recently we stumbled across the perfect MINI “teacup” in a sporting goods store - the Klean Kanteen 8-ounce insulated tumbler. It fits in the cup holder well, and it’s low enough that it doesn’t interfere with the toggles!
I ordered mine monogrammed from Amazon. His is personalized - I’ll post a pic later...

I’m a former gen1 owner (2003 Cooper, Velvet Red - hence the “VRBeauty” moniker). I’d say most likely, yes, 99% certainty. I think the gen 1and gen 2 models share the same cup holders.

These tea mugs look perfect for my spouse! She drives the Countryman and her usual tea travel mug interferes with the lowest controls.

Edit: quick measurements with a tape measure show that the untapered section at the bottom is 3/4" (19 mm) tall and has a diameter of 2-3/4" (70 mm.)

Closer than I thought
Okay, I took the [thin] plastic packaging off it and tried again. It does sort of go in.
Abeer soda can (2 39/64”, 66.3 mm) fits snugly.
This is as far as I can insert the Klean Kanteen (2 49/64", 70.3 mm.)
It's basically 1/4" of cup (6 mm) in the holder. It does stay put because it's wedged tight, but I don't know if I'd trust it with liquid in there while driving.
The MINI has great gum holders, though.
