R53 vibration driving me crazy!!

I have a 2004 Mini Cooper s(pre facelift) that is driving me up the wall. When it rains(moderate to heavy) it feels like it’s going to shake itself apart. As soon as the rain stops so does the vibration. I’ve tried everything I can think of: plugs, wires, coil pack, hubs(fixed a different problem that I hoped was related but no dice), air filter, cabin air filter(just because), the motor mounts were fairly new(at least what I can see from up top the top one looks like it was installed yesterday). Could it be the maf sensor, cv axles, tranny going, anything just to know what direction to go from here is welcome because I’m gonna shoot this car!

Describe the what kind of vibration. Front/rear, left/right. Does it change at different speeds or engine rpm. Does the vibration subside if you coast in neutral.

Front, feels like powertrain, it’s less noticeable in neutral but as soon as you choose a gear it’s right back until around 5k rpm and it smooths, not gone just a faster vibration. It’s only under load and it doesn’t care if it’s up hill, down hill, or flat ground. Doesn’t matter what gear either. But as soon as the rain stops it clears up completely. It’s like something is taking on water but I can’t for the life of me figure out what. It was there before I changed plugs, wires, and coil pack and it’s still there now. Other than that it runs like a top, just doesn’t like the rain.

Sort of a long shot, but try changing the tire pressures or even rotating the tires & see if there's any difference.
It may be something to do with the change in grip in wet weather.
It could also be an alignment issue.

Thanks for the tip! Just ordered a set of wheels so when I take it to get tires I’ll have them throw it on the alignment rack as well. You people are the reason why I love NAM and Mini enthusiasts. It will be stale for a bit but will update with new wheels and a fresh alignment.
