Something not right with my mini

Hi

So as I was just looking above the pillar on my Mini Cooper I noticed there is a slight gap in the roof mouldings and whilst looking online I have seen that above the pillar there should be a roof moulding on its own which connects to the other roof mouldings but on my mini there is no single roof moulding above the pillar on the drivers side, the longer right side roof moulding seems to stretch over the drivers side pillar.

Here are some images of my car and what it looks like

Here is the roof moulding above the drivers side pillar as you can see there is a slight gap and there Is no single roof moulding above the pillar

https://imgur.com/4esHzf4

Here is the roof moulding above the passenger side and as you can see there is a single short roof moulding above the pillar unlike on the drivers side

Could anyone advise me on how I can correct the roof moulding above the drivers side pillar?

Thanks

do You think I could repair this to look same as it originally did and do you think this would cost me much and would it be easy to fix on my own? Thanks for your reply!

Check if it was moved (not centered) before you buy another one. If it were indeed cut too short, here is the part number : http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/part...&q=51317155304
some buying suggestions https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...l/51317155304/
https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_In...-7-155-304-M26

there are others but you get the idea

thanks every so much for this, it’s definetly not moved already checked, will I be able to replace the moulding on my own or would it be too difficult? Also you see the very small moulding which goes over the pillar which is missing from the drivers side would this be included?

looking at the diagram in realoem, that piece is part of the side trim.

as for the roof molding, i think you can use a mallet to tap it in

Hey,

to replace the roof moulding will I need to remove the windscreen or can I just pull the current roof moulding out and pop this one in without having to remove anything?

Looking at mine, it seems the side molding lines up with the pillar trim and the windshield molding goes underneath it about 1/2". I think your side molding is good. it is just the windshield molding you need to order.

as you said, just pull on it gently and slide it from the side. I personally never done it, so just take your time with it.
