Convertible for guys? girls? anyone?
I had an R56 S convertible when I was 40. I don't think I got any more comments about manliness in that car than I did my 69 Impala or my bike. Most common was "my god, I didn't think someone your size would fit in a Mini."
My husband has never liked any of my Mini's though.

Im 16 and drive a Chili Red R57 S. There are guys who will make comments or shake their head at my car. But I'm sorry, if you are having this much fin every time you get behind the wheel, then who cares what other's think. Plus, the number of compliments heavily outweigh the number of negative comments at gas stations, or even in traffic.

Well I'm 46 and drive a roadster. So there.
Frankly, I haven't gotten anything other than compliments on the car, plus one good-natured dig at the size, telling me to "get it back up on the sidewalk."
Maybe people think it's a girly car, maybe not. I could care less.
The point is that I'm having WAY more fun on my commute than they are, and it costs me less, too!
