Factory Painted JCW Bumper Paint Cracked/Blistering
I have a question for everyone on this forum on how I should pursue this problem.
I haven't brought it up to MINIUSA as I discovered this yesterday while doing a full detail on my R56.
My vehicle is a 09 R56 delivered in August of 2009 and it had all the JCW CF and accessories added on at the PDC and dealer, the one thing in question is the JCW Kit..
My rear bumper has never been hit, dented, flexed, scratched, bumped into OR has it ever been removed and flexed (typical reasons why paint would spider web)...FWIW the car is always garaged, never in the rain, keep in mind the vehicle has less than 8,000 miles on it and the paint on the rear bumper has began to spiderweb in one area.
Granted if my vehicle has been hit, repainted, or sustained what MINI considered 'normal wear & tear' i wouldn't be complaining about their poor paint procedure BUT it hasn't!
What should I do? Take this up with corporate? The dealer the vehicle was purchased from was on the east coast (I'm in Los Angeles) so that is out of the picture.

Yeah, but there is not the slightest sign of impact (read above)
I took it to a shop I go to and their only conclusion was that it wasn't prepped 100% before they painted it at the VDC

If the spider web crack is only in one spot, then I agree someone tapped you gently in a parking lot. The same thing happened to my Miata at a traffic light There wasn't any other evidence of the impact other than the cracked paint. If the spider web cracks appear all over the bumper then you might have a case for a bad initial paint job. Even then, you're out of warranty and at the mercy of the dealer/manufacturer.
