I'm an idiot.

So I happened to leave my sunroof open and it rained. A lot. My interior is soaked, everything works ok and I currently have towels soaking up the water in the carpet. There's water leaking from the roof liner and I'm concerned that mold or mildew will grow.
Any suggestions for getting the roof liner dry?

ugh.

That rain today came totally out of nowhere....I had to run outside during work to close my roof.

I don't have any suggestions for you though, sorry. You should probably keep a container of Damp-Rid (or other moisture remover) in the car for the next few weeks, though.

First get a wet dry vac. and suck as much water out of all the carpets and head liner as you can. Then borrow or rent a big fan and park in a dry area, open all your doors and sunroof, as well as rear hatch, and let the fan run.

Park your car somewhere dry. It's a perfect excuse to go to Vegas.

It's raining like crazy here in Vegas right now! Lots of thunder and lightning, too!!
I'm guessing we got our storm for the summer...

Same thing happened to me a few years ago. Windows open less than an I change... beautiful day... sudden thunderstorm. Takes me 5 minutes to reach my car from my desk at work.

Had 2 inches of standing water in the MINI.

Wet vac'd as much out as I could when I got home. Opened all three doors and let it air out for a couple of days. Good as new!

Vacuum, open doors and then get some air moving inside.Might be able to place a couple of cheap box fans in front of the seats.May take a few days.

I dont think mold will take place with only one wetting.

Baking soda it will absorb the moisture and damp odor just open a few boxes and set them on the floor

I know. I drove through it yesterday when I was getting out of town on the 15. Just before the Valley Wells rest stop the sky was black and it was pouring, pouring, pouring! We all had our emergency flashers on and some folks were pulling over to the side of the road - not me though. I was just praying it didn't turn to hail! Then just at the rest stop it got sunny again and other than a few sprinkles near Barstow it was a nice drive. Especially the part where I picked up my new Michelins in Ontario. They go on this week.

Just leaving boxes out doesn't expose enough surface area to have any effect. You could try spreading it directly on the carpet (vacuum when dry).

I think if you leave it with the windows open on a hot, sunny day, you'll be fine. If you are worried about mold or mildew, you can always take the headliner out and dry it in the sun, that will kill it. As to the carpets, just wet vac them. I wouldn't worry about it though. We had that happen to our convertible, had a couple inches of standing water, sucked it out and let it dry on a hot day. Never had mold or mildew problems.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I was able to get it pretty dry and left all windows open every chance I got. I'm pretty sure it's back to normal now...

I measured my dehumidifier, appears that it will fit in the back of my R56 hatchback. Perhaps you need to run over to Lowes and pick one up.

Also be sure to take floor mats out to expose the carpet underneath. If the cover over the tool kit is saturated it's probably toast - that composite junk they are made of will eventually crumble.

I'd advise getting aggressive drying it out once you have an outbreak of mildew it is nearly impossible getting rid of the funk.
