For better or worse, I decided to insist on the MINI brand extended warranty

I had a great sales experience at MINI of South Atlanta, but the finance person was writing me into a private label warranty and I didn't realize it. It was the "platinum" version of some warranty, and while I've heard on here that the MINI warranty isn't all that, I was uncomfortable with being put into something I'd had virtually no explanation of. I felt like particularly with the vagaries of items like MINI Connected, I wanted the official "XXL" versino of the real MINI Extended Motorer Protection, for 5 years / 100K miles. I realize those are marketing terms, but I was disturbed at how my finance person would never describe it as such. I actually touched based with the sales manager to be sure that I was getting precisely what I thought I was getting and the finance person is going to fax me the actual warranty on Monday. Maybe I'm being paranoid because I've heard so many horror stories of how the finance folks can pull a fast one, but the imprecision in language made me want to be doubly/triply sure. Even now she is describing it as MINI EXTENDED SERVICE (MECHANICAL) CONTRACT, though in our conversation I made it very clear that I want navigation and MINI Connected covered. I will await the written warranty to absolutely confirm I'm getting what I've asked for.

Same experience with F&I yesterday. Pushing a certain Fidelity Platinum (not the Fidelity Financial Co.) and had no materials on the BMW warranty. I insisted and very reluctantly he produced some flier but was unable or unwilling to explain the official Mini program.

Even with the MINI warranty read it very carefully. They usually explain what is NOT covered versus what is. I have the extended motorer coverage for the services plus the tire and wheel for what its worth. *eye roll*
