Didn't get what I ordered, PLEASE HELP!!

Hello! I have a question. I ordered a MCS and got the JCW trim package. When I ordered it, it was supposed to have the black steering wheel with red stitching but it came with the standard wheel with paddles. My MA says that MINI must have changed their package but their website states otherwise. Would anyone know, or know of someone who would know, was my MINI supposed to have the red stitched steering wheel or has the package really changed? I called MINIUSA and they could not tell me what was contained in what packages.

If you ordered the "JCW appearance package" on a 2012, then it most certainly comes with the red-stitched steering wheel in place of the paddle wheel. This is what I have on my '12 MCSa.

The package includes: aero kit, challenge wheels, door sills, and interior accents. Did you get the rest of these package items except the wheel? Note that on an automatic, the interior accents are just for the steering wheel, you do not get the red stitching on the shift boot or e-brake handle.

This is a brand new package, if your car came with the paddle wheel, then I believe the dealer owes it to you to correct what is a clear mistake!

Keep us updated!
Jon

I seem to remember several others posting on this board a few months back about this same problem. There wer some units supplied incorrectly and MINI knows about it and will correct it. Your MA and/or dealer may be unaware(not suprised).

I received everything else that I know of just the steering wheel with paddles. Thanks for reassuring me. I will let you know tomorrow what happens when i go pick it up.

One other footnote, I was originally greatly disappointed when I found out that, due to the JCW package, paddle shifters weren't an option for me...it was almost a deal-breaker.

Then, before I had my car, I had a loaner MCSa that had the paddles. After using them, I realized that I wouldn't use them as much as I originally thought, and would happily choose the red-stitched wheel over the paddles were I to be ordering a car now. Hope you get the wheel, because it is sweet! Good luck!

If they decide that they do indeed "owe" you the wheel then make sure that you get an "I owe you" slip. They should have them and it is always good to get it in writing.

my 2012 MCS AUTO has no red stitching on the steering wheel.

Jcdeng, the red stitching only applies if you ordered your car with the "JCW appearance package". The post prior to yours shows what it looks like, only those pics are from a manual.

Went to my MA to pick up my MCSa this afternoon. They agreed there was a mistake and are installing the red stitched steering wheel. Thanks everyone for the reassurance and hope they would fix it.
