Stange window/sunroof opening on their own??

I went into work this morning and and ended up coming back to my Clubman S about 30 minutes later to find both windows down and the sunroofs open.
Is there some type of auto command that I could have inadvertently executed that caused this...or is this a clinch I need to have checked out?

If the unlock button on your fob is held down then the windows will roll down then the sunroof will open to vent position. I have done that a couple of times at home with fob in my pocket while crawling under my house to fix stuff.
I have also found the back door popped open which is easier to do unintentionally.
I do have the comfort access fob with a range of over 100' so that can easily happen while in the house at work or otherwise out of visual site of the car.

If you hold the open button down long enough it will open the sunroof and windows, perhaps you were within range and sitting on it

Thanks guys.
I do work close enough to my car that I must have sit on the EA fob and done this. Just glad it was not a ghost that had possessed my Mini!

Was the sunroof tilted or open? Tilted it would most likely be your pocket causing it. Open is another story.

I had that problem about 2 mo. ago only it rained an my interior got soaked leather seat etc..I was able to dry it out quickly enough and thankful I have the rubber mats that somewhat saved my carpet..I wet dry vac'd everything and chamoied the whole entire car.I immediately put on some leather conditioner so leather is back to looking new.I was fortunate that it was a matter of minutes when this happened. So the sunroof opened all the way on mine and my key fob was no where near the car.The dealer could not figure this out either.I just hope it does not happen again:confused:

I can open my sunroof completely if I hold the button down long enough on my R56. You just have to be willing to hold the button down for like 20 seconds.

Or maybe I'm mixing up my R53 with my R56. It's been a long day. :P

MINIs have been known to open the windows themselves, and the dealer can supposedly reprogram something to fix it. It happened to our 08.

Happened in my '07. Parked in my driveway, closed her up, came out the next day to all windows down and the sunroof open. Mentioned it to my MA and he looked at me like I was nucking futs.

Yep. Happened to our '08, too. MINI service took care of it and hasn't happened since.
