Could be different on the R56. I have an R53 (as does the original poster). On the R53, the drain plug (at least mine) is on the back side of the oil pan, so the fumoto comes out horizontal, not vertical. So it works great on the R53, but sounds like it might not work on the R56; I wouldn't want the fumoto oriented vertically either.
