Don't get me wrong - the OBD system is great, and it effectively monitors probably 90% of the systems in the car. But when you have a problem with a system/circuit that isn't monitored, or you have an intermittent problem, or several separate yet related problems, many of the techs don't know where to start because the OBD has become a sort of "crutch" for them.

O.M.G.!!! I just choked on my hot chocolate! TOO TRUE for anyone who has had the pleasure of dealing with CF.

+1 esp the "candy corn" fuel gauge!

YESSS!!! When I was at the dealership explaining to my MA what features I wanted my cooper equipped with, he told me that they had one in stock that had all of my preferences, AND MORE that I could get for the same deal, but then I asked which rims were on it, and they were the stock ones I recently read a review for the 2011's, and it noted that all of the rims for the 2011 model lineup were new, FALSE!, the stock ones are still available. It's the one feature I definitely want to change on my cooper, if I end up buying out the lease, I think that'll be the first thing I do.

LOVE both our MINI's. LOVE our MA. HATE our SA. When will dealers seriously realize the experience doesn't end with the purchase? Ugh! Did I say we LOVE our MINI's?

That happens with the secret compartment adapter in the 07. I don't think the USB adapter in the 08 does it.

It's happening on my '11 S with the built in adapter under the toggles. My possible work around is to scramble the songs in iTunes, sync it, and just play without using the random mode in the car. But, I am just curious if others are experiencing this phenomena and if it can be fixed.

I have not noticed this t ll in my 200 MCS. I use random mode through the car all the time. I'll admit I don't listen to the iPod ll the time, but whenever I do its lists the correct songs.

Thanks. I guess I'll take advantage of my warranty to get it checked out.

There are limited aftermarket parts at this time for my model year and it seems like it's going to take a while to get produced.

What year MINI do you have? There are a lot of aftermarket parts for most models.

It's a 2011 MCS with the HK upgrade. What sort of aftermarket stuff are you suggesting that may help with the random play?

It's a brand new car, if you are having problems with the sound system you sholud take it to the dealer, brfore you go looking for aftermarket options.

You could also search the Navigation & Audio

section of this site to find out about audio add ons.

the amount of filth that collects on the hatch.
I hate that the doors lock automatically and when other people tries to get out of the car they continue pulling on the door handle as if breaking it off will open the door.

2011 MCS.

New engine, revised airbox / other stuff means no engine upgrades / strut bars / tuning ports (revised ecu).

So while I could get suspension / rims, the bulk of items don't work right now.

+1 for brake dust also the armrest its nice, But it would be better if I didn't have to close it every 2 seconds.

Also the stealership when I took it in to have timing chain replaced they tried to up sell me rear brakes, Front tires, Injector flush, and Decarbon flush. I just rotated the tires and looked at the brakes and they seem to have more life on them then what I was told. After I got home I looked at the vehicle condition report and apparently I have a faulty seat belt I was not mad aware of.

Are you still under warranty? I wonder if they would have came to the same conclusion if you had warranty left.
