Grille problems...I know it's somewhere, can't find it

Sorry to ask this of you guys. I've done searches and I can't find the exact problem with my grille.

The nuts aren't rusted, and I'm still having trouble even getting one off of these black plastic pegs. I don't know how they were put on, but they won't come off. Further more, the replacement grille I have just has cross shaped pegs.. does this mean I have to put the nuts on once I remove them in order to put the new grille on?

I don't want to break the grille to put this on, but I'm having a dousy of a time. I tried twisting in both directions, and even pulling them down as I turned them, and no luck :(.

Thanks in advance..

The nuts unscrew in the normal direction (counter clockwise). Slide a screwdriver or tool under the nut and pry up while you unscrew. It is tedious to get all the nuts off without damaging the plastic posts. The nuts are fragile and awkward to grip, and it went a lot easier when I used a bit from a socket wrench set (I think it was 10mm) to turn them.

Yes, you will have to attach the new grill with the nuts.

Ok guys, I got the new upper grille on! I just need to figure out the middle grille. I heard there's torx screws but I don't see any. Do I need to take off the bolts, or just do the phillips screws?
