This would be a very good year for Top Gear to come to the Dragon because it is closed. I can hear those guys now. I'm sure they could really make a funny show out of this disaster.

They don't even know (or care) about "the Dragon", I'm sure...

 

It was nowhere on their hunt for the greatest road, they kept it to Europe for a multitude of reasons; drugs, spiders, gibberish signs, communists, etc.

 

Lotus tests their cars there, so the road is know in the UK, however Top Gear has gone from a genuine car show, into a show with three men playing characters of their former selves, by the executive producer's own admission the show has lost it's innocence. While MOTD is perfect timing for filming, I don't think we'll see them show up if for nothing else the show has shifted from car enthusiast programming that was entertaining, to entertain programming that happens to be about cars.

But hey I could be wrong, suppose we'll find out in June if they've taken notice of this road.

 

interestingly, the entire Top Gear crew, including the Stig, is scheduled to be filming at the BMW Performance Center in South Carolina in May.

Well said... I used to be a die-hard fan of Top Gear, but in the last couple seasons, it's really so obviously staged and bogus, that it has really lost it's lustre for me. Granted, I still watch it, but I am a bit disappointed by it these days.

 

no 'absolute' proof. kind of third hand, but the contacts are usually reliable with this sort of stuff.

Who says this years MOTD is a disaster?! There were ALOT of people that helped get the Dragon opened for us and many, many others so that the enjoyment could go on this spring/summer. Disaster my ***! This is going to be the best Dragon ever!
