NAM comes through for me again. This site is great!
So the other day I'm testing out the rear window washer (going on 2 weeks of ownership) and can hear the motor, but no water is coming out. Come inside and with a quick search, found posts explaining how to unclog the drain, even with nice pics showing how the arm flips open. Two minutes later using a paperclip, water is now cleaning off the pollen and watering the lawn.
Hours later, just home from a trip to WM, I notice one of the bags in the back wet, but thought it was just condensation from the mulch bags. Work my way down and find the boot floorboard drenched in water. I sop up as much as I can, and find the battery sitting in about 2 inches of water. Now having read that tag on my dryer a few too many times, I know water and electricity are a bad, bad thing. Came back inside to see if there are any particulars to taking out the battery then go back outside, with the hopes that my neighbors don't find me dead in the driveway and someone kindly looks after my dogs.
Someone replaced the battery 09/09 but learned from the posts that it's small and probably not recommended for this car, but hey, it starts quickly so might just keep it. Battery out, water dried up, battery back in with only a few sparks! Car starts up nicely and I think we're back in business. Propped the floorboard up to let air/heat help dry up the carpet and hopefully it won't be too musty smelling.
Anyway, if I hadn't learned how to fix the washer arm clog, probably would have accumulated a lot more water around the battery and who knows what would have happened. So, thanks all for contributing to this forum to help everyone out!
