Replaced the halos in my headlights. The ones that come with the headlights were very weak.

Old halo. Cheesy led lights.

New halo rings. Mucho better.

Head lights reassembled. Will install on mini tomorrow.

This is an open filter style with no routing piping so of course depending on traffic conditions could briefly be a HAI, but sound and some "character" is what I wanted out of it and it delivers in spades. Also fitted the Alta stiffer DV spring. Thumbs up to all mods and the power from the 2.5" exhaust is definitely noticeable, as is the sound of the open filter intake and the stronger/longer-in-boost feeling of the spring (can't go wrong with a $26 mod that actually works).

Now with the 2.5" downpipes-back exhaust fitted and already seeing such a noticeable stronger pull from the S you can bet I am planning to complete the system with hi-flow downpipe and tune.
But first (patiently) waiting for the Ohlins coilovers. Hoping ECS gets those shipped out end of June!!

Nice couple of mods there! It’s a nice feeling when you spend on your mods and you’re happy with them

I like the picture of the underside too. But when I look at that picture, I can’t help but think the Clubman looks like it was never really designed for a dual exhaust…

Good to see that the Countryman checked out. She’ll enjoy it for sure! Now you have to give her the mod bug to make it her own…

The wife and I both had a CupFone from weathertech, RAV4 has a nice cell phone pocket and I got a cravenspeed xl scissor phone holder, so before she left our house we gave her one. She is coming over Thursday so I can give it an oil change and I’m going to drop in my aFe dry filter, since it’s just sitting in the back. Damn thing sat on the lot for months, it was a repo, and I think it sat there because it was a 6 speed. They cleaned it, took pics, and parked it, where she sat till we called about it. If it wasn’t for the fact that I knew she was getting a smoking deal, we probably would have walked away from the dealership. They didn’t bother to fill up the tank, it was red on gauge and they put just half a tank in, and they didn’t bother to at least run it through a car wash before send her off. Oh well, she is supposed to be washing it up today and I’ll get the maintenance up to date. She is planning on Mini Slay the Sleeping Dragon in October, I got some work to do.

Congrats, Jason! And love the shot of the two. When you get the R60 cleaned up take some more pics of the "cousin cars" (R55 / R60).

Thanks Nik! And I agree as we have chatted before I wish they had stuck to a single-side exhaust like the non-S gets for the S and JCW variants... maybe give it twin tips if they really wanted to distinguish it. Not that the dual exhaust doesn't look good in its own way - definitely balances the rear and looks conventionally aggro, but I like the look of single side exhausts especially on cars with inline engines. I bet the R55's famously "tame" (quiet) exhaust versus the R56 hatchback central exit is due to MINIs choice to run a dual design. Not a huge deal but in an ideal build world I would run a "Justaclubman" rear bumper and custom 2.5" exhaust. Maybe someone on NAM has tried that out?

Changed out the oil in wife’s BFF’s R60S All4. Everything is about the same on the n18 and n14. Torque on oil plug is different and the oil filter is in the same area but that damn coolant hose gets in the way. On the n14 that hose isn’t in the way, I can remove intake tube and get to my filter where I actually had to move her coolant tank. Other than that, everything else is the same. While I was in there I did install my aFe dry filter for her, first upgrade.

Audrey got a new upper grill trim installed. The previous one was broken, had peeling chrome, and was attached by three different types of screws and a washer. The clips were all broken and I'm amazed that it didn't fly off on the highways.

Right now I'm also researching headlight adjustment because she's looking further down than she should be.

Thats awesome! Just did this myself on my R53.

I wanted to replace the passenger side mount but apparently Lemfoerder doesnt make them any longer? Or, there are none to be had.

Looks like Mini or Corteco... Patiently waiting until I figure this out. lol

Finally switched out my run flats.
I decided to add a spare and jack (instead of trusting slime or puncture kits) to my trunk. So I ordered a spare from WMWs and took a trip to Harbor Freight:

I takes up less room than I thought it would:

Scissor jack and foldable lug wrench:

Decided to flip the spare so it could hold my jumper cables (never too prepared):

The spare was $150 after shipping, and the self made "kit" was another $30-40.
Not bad and I'm happy to finally have a spare!

I know Corteco is the OE supplier on the harmonic balancers (had the marks where the BMW/MINI stampings were ground off) so they may be for the mount, too. I was really hoping I didn't need to take the mount apart, but there's just no room without! Still not too bad once you get it all figured out. Reassembly always goes faster!

Happy Father's Day!

Had some sweaty, hard working fun with my dad today and brought this little guy back out into the light of day for the first time in (what I've been told) 15 years. The modern classic barn find is out there!

Hiding for over a decade.

Out into the light of day!

Home and rinsed off.

What needs to be done with it? What is wrong with it currently?

It's a parts car, honestly. Both frame horns are damaged, and it looks like one of the trans mount bracket bosses is broken off the trans. Plus everything that's missing from the front end, the interior is filthy because the windows were down all that time, and after sitting for over a decade I don't trust a single bit of rubber on the car. It would take far more money and effort than it's worth to bring it back, but it will donate much.

I hear ya! I have three sets for the Mini, and two sets for my wife's CX-9. She thinks that's an excessive amount!

I went through 6 different sets over the 5 years I had my 97 Golf, but never more than 3 at the same time.
