is a mini a chick's car??

Is a mini a chicks car ? Lots of my friends have told me what am i doing driving around in a chicks car :eek2: anyone else had similar experiences ?

minicooperwill Oct 20, 2009 07:51 AM

I've never seen a baby chicken driving one, so I'd say no.

Driv3r Oct 20, 2009 07:54 AM

For those who don't know, a Chick = Female.

If you look around the site, this question has been coming up for years. General consensus, MINI owners don't give a fiddlers fart what others think of their car.

Oh, it's also not a "gay" car either:roll:

I think a Mini is any car you choose to make it, Yes it can be Girly or Studly, that is half the fun of doing Mods to it, you make it your own.
I have also heard other cars are guys cars, from the Vette, the Mustang, Camaro, Charger. I dont think the Women who drive these rides would agree with that statement.

Yawn

I consult my two teenage sons on serious matters such as this.

While I do not completely agree with their assessment, the following are definitely chick cars.

1. Miata
2. New Beatle
3. Any Chrysler convertible (old chicks)
4. All VW Rabbits and Golfs except Gti
5. Mitsubishi Eclipse

The mere existence of the "S" keeps even just-a cooper's like mine off the list. I guess I'm lucky they don't carve out the "S"s like they do GTi's.

Hand them your keys and ask them to test it if they are man enough

New and original.

I just wish I had one of these "chick" cars when I was single. I get more "chicks" telling he how cute the car is and how much they like it more than any other car I've owned except the 914. I figure you have to choose; do you want a lot of guys asking about the car or a bunch of "chicks".

How old are your friends?

lacning74 Oct 20, 2009 10:06 AM

Yes. Man, woman, metrosexual, straight, or not. I'm just happy it's mine (and my wife's I guess).

srmitch2 Oct 20, 2009 10:08 AM

9 out of 10 drivers I see around town are guys. One little lady with a red Cabrio S, usually with the top down, and wearing a nice red go-to-church hat.

ZippyNH Oct 20, 2009 11:12 AM

It comes down to how you drive it.......just drive it like man!!

markusw Oct 20, 2009 11:17 AM

More like chick magnet. My MINI gets sooo much attention from women and I love it . Two weeks ago, I was drinking coffee outside a local coffee shop and I caught a lady pet my Cooper. I guess she didn't realize that owner of that MINI stares at his car while drinking coffee . lol.

lacning74 Oct 20, 2009 11:20 AM

Magnet for sure. I'm just assuming it was a "chick" who did this to my mini last winter:

Generally, mine is a "chick car" when my wife is autocrossing it.

Yes it is and you should start worrying about who you are. You will now start to watch The View and HGTV only.
Get a grip, who cares what they think.

From a previous poster I have two 'chick' cars, the MINI and a Miata. I don't care what others think about what cars I drive. I care about what cars I drive.

Then what should you do about some teenage punks that try to key your car because they think it's "gay?"

waynepaulj Oct 20, 2009 01:10 PM

Chick Car

I'd tell them that I don't need to prove my manhood by the size of my car.

The MINI is totally a gay car! I mean, I'm gay and am getting one, have had one in the past, so yeah it's a gay car. But so is the GTI I drive now, a 350Z I've driven before, MX-5 (surely I jest), E9- BMW M3 which I drool over, Chevy Camaro (eh, sorta...okay it's at least an attempt from GM), Z4M Coupe. They're all gay cars too because I like them

But seriously, a car is what you make of it. If you're uncomfortable seeing people driving around in the same vehicle who are different from you, go ahead and get a jacked up Dodge with the testes hanging off the rear bumper and be done with it...though then we'll all know you're just compensating for something else lacking

cheapdanny Oct 20, 2009 01:33 PM

...uhmm I do and I'm loving it! ;)

I always thought those were gay guy cars!!!! J/K

PeterGibbons316 Oct 20, 2009 01:37 PM

Depends on why you bought it. My wife wanted one because it is "cute and litte" = chick car. I wanted one because it is quick and handles well = not a chick car. So I guess whether or not ours is depends on which one of us is driving it.
