Accident Repairs - Houston
We got our 2008 MINI (new in April) back from the body shop last week.
He / she (not sure what gender my daughter has assigned) was damaged backing out of a friend's driveway. The repairs included a new rear hatch, rear bumper cover, and right tail light, and straightening the right rear quarter panel (about $2500).
When I put the MINI in the shop, I told them I wanted the best they had to work on the car, they could schedule the repair, and they could keep the car as long as needed. The MINI actually sat in our garage for several weeks while I worried over getting the repairs done right and looked at different options (like PDR on the quarter panel).
The shop worked with my insurance company as my insurance company wanted to straighten the hatch and repair the bumper cover while the shop said they had to be replaced.
The results are outstanding. And I should add that we are very picky. I have to tell you that picking up the car from the shop was like picking up the car new in April. I am so happy with the results that I wanted to post pictures here (in my gallery), and let everyone know. There are shops where you can get things done right. I have used this body shop for 20 years.
If don't wish an accident on anyone. But if you find yourself in this position, I strongly recommend this Houston shop. They are Jammers Auto Body at 3740 Jeanetta (713-789-3450). Ask for Ron or Al.

Back at the Spa
Well,
The MINI was hit again last week in a parking lot (driver's door and left rear quarter panel). So this is the second visit to the shop in the last year. I heard one of my neighbors asking where the car is and my wife told her it is at the "spa". So that is what we are calling the shop now.
It just makes me sick. At least the other driver's insurance is paying for the damage.
