Why doesn't MINI USA have information about their parts?

I've just got to rant.

So I'm interested in upgrading my brakes on my R56 to the JCW brakes. I'm trying to get information about it and my local dealership has no idea, Classic MINI in Ohio has not idea, 866-ASK-MINI has no idea.

This isn't the first time this has happened to me. The same happened with the JCW Engine Kit and the Suspension.

If they are going to sell a kit or a part, why not put a simple PDF together with the specs and the MSRP? How is anyone expected to drop $1,000 or, most likely, more on upgrades if they don't have any information? Don't they want to sell these parts?

WTF MINI? Anyone else have this experience?

Rant complete.

BTW, if anyone has information on the JCW Sport Brake kit, I'd appreciate it.

I think the issue is that a lot of the JCW stuff for the R56 has just been announced with finalized pricing and specs. This is along with dates for availability. I know it is frustrating but give them a month or so and you should have better information.

In this case, MINIUSA probably doesn't have on their system because it isn't available to order yet. FWIW, this was posted from Germany:

In Germany we have a part number (34 11 0 432 802) for the complete retrofit brake kit (front and rear). :eek2:

R56 MINI Cooper S (stock)
front: 294 mm (= 11.5748031 inches) brake disc diameter
rear: 259 mm (= 10.1968504 inches) brake disc diameter

R56 MINI John Cooper Works (retrofit brake kit)
front: 316 mm (= 12.4409449 inches) brake disc diameter
rear: 280 mm (= 11.023622 inches) brake disc diameter

The price tag is 1,780.00 Euros (~2,820 $US).

I'm not knowledgeable in this area but others have said it is not a bad price for Brembos, especially on all 4 wheels.

People in the UK are getting quotes at £800 to £850, which is actually a good deal: http://www.mini2.com/forum/wheels-ty...ml#post3524948
