What's Oiling the CAI?

How do you oil filter of a CAI? Why do you oil the filter of a CAI? and what kind of oil do you use?

The oil is needed to make the filter "stickier" for airborne pollutants and debris to stick to. Most foam filter owners use this kit, made by Uni.

You can get it many places, including outmotoring: http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop...r_cleaning_kit

I don't know if there are pics or not but is it a Cotton (k&n type) or a Foam (alta, uni, ITG) type filter?

Oiling the filter traps dirt and debris from getting into the intake system.

I clean mine just about every oil change, 5K or so.

This is for the cotton filers like the K&N

Just make sure you use the proper oil for the type of filter you have........and don't over-oil it! it doesn't take much, basically just enough to make the filter feel sticky.
