MINI Seats on How It's Made

The How It's Made episode with
Wooden Barrels, fire hydrants, automobile seats and cathode ray tubes
shows the assembly of new mini seats.

It is apparently done in a non-mini subcontracting plant, as the name on the shirts wasn't bmw or mini. It is clearly the mini seat, though they go to great lengths not to show a logo. At the end, an inside-out mini fabric logo can be seen.

It takes about 60 minutes to make all 4 seats. There are over 400 variations of mini seat.

neato.

When I was in the hospital, watching "How it's Made" and Mythbusters, was the only thing keeping me from having brain rot. Although, some episodes are like, "why bother..."

I just saw this episode. As soon as I saw the red/black cloth seat, I knew it had to be MINI. Recorded it on my TiVo, I'll Youtube the section tomorrow at work.

I don't even have my Clubman yet and I was excitedly telling my husband last night that those were MINI seats! Poor guy is laid up in bed after knee surgery and still can't get away from my talking about the MINI :).

Thanks - I thought I saw the Mini logo on the underside of the rear bench in that show.... Mrs. thought I was going further toward the nut house, so I backed up the dvr and showed her the logo.

It didn't look like they glued the cover to the foam underneath.

When I tried to take my seat cushion apart (thought about adding seat heaters), the leather would not come off the foam pad - it appeared to be glued on or something. So I stopped trying altogether, in fear of ruining the seat and not being able to get a replacement.
