"Live Fast, Die Young"-Sheila
Sheila a 2003 MINI Cooper S passed away in a accident on October 2, 2007 on Stony Ford Rd. at aproximately 10:40pm in Middletown, New York. She is survived by her live-in partner Toyota Corrola in Watsonville, CA. And several extended family throughout California and recently in New York. She was 3 years old. Sheila gave her life for her owner and his passenger, and will never be forgotten. A memorial service is planned for close family and friends. Sheila was a member of MINIManiacs, NorCalMINIS, SoCal MINIManiacs, BMWCCA Golden Gate Chapter, NASA, SCCA. Sheila has participated in several activities such as MTTS, AMVIV, Phil Wicks MINI Driving, MidCalMINI's runs, BMW Autocross.

A candlelight vigil will be held this Wednesday at the Monahagen Tow Service in Middletown, NY. Light a candle and take a moment of silence to reflect on your own MINI experience, and how much joy it brings you. Rest in Peace Sheila. We will all miss you.    You are with Angels now in MINI heaven.

This weekend, Toyota Corrolla, will take extended run through Mt. Madonna onto Eureka Canyon/Summit all the way through, then a cruise through beaches on Highway 1, onto West Cliff in Santa Cruz in memory of her departed loved one. It was Sheila's favorite Run.

Very sorry for your loss. Sheila went honorably. Based on your sig, I would say you invested a lot of love in her. She clearly appreciated it as she gave her life for the safety of you and your passenger.

Sincere condolences from SoCal. While the first photo sent a chill up my spine, I think the last photo says the proverbial 1,000 words. Glad to see you standing, but don't forget to check in w/ your doc, just tp make sure there are no hairline fractures or anything.

(Why is it, that when a special email gets sent out to everyone in my company about the passing of a loved one of a fellow employee I hardly know, I really don't care; But every time a MINI dies, I cringe a bit?)

tigwantstoplay 10-03-2007 07:26 AM

RIP     My condolences.

I believe I met Sheila once. Did she sport an M7 exhaust purchased from me in July?

Be at peace knowing that she is in MINI-heaven with other brave MINIs who've gone before her; all having protected their owners as Sheila did for you.

The Flying Cannoli is sad for your loss. :(

I was thinking the same thing about the photo's.
I too Cring/tear up when I see a MINI die in protection of it's owner.

RIP Sheila

How sad.

I can but hope that Sheila will be reincarnated. The spooky part of this for me the near identical twin appearance between Sheila and Gromit.

Perhaps Sheila can be an organ donor for your next Mini.

What precipitated the cause of death?

howsoonisnow1985... sorry to hear about Sheila.

However, in future please do not create more than one thread for the same topic (aka "cross posting").

Yes, that was her!! Took it to Powetone to replace with straightpipe (no resonators) and install. It was loud! Memories of Sheila

Your expression in picture 3 explains it all. So sorry to hear about Sheila.

jeffc 10-03-2007 04:16 PM

Damn man that sucks. You getting another Mini?

MXMINI 10-03-2007 04:20 PM

I'm so sorry for your loss  but very glad you are ok.

I grew up in Watsonville. While I don't live there now, I still go down quite a bit to visit family. Maybe you'll adopt another MINI and I'll see it on the road sometime?
