When is somebody going to start the "Questions we'd like PU to answer" thread?

BTW, Rally is just attempting to be fair with PU and he most certainly doesn't work for them.

I'd check out Mcgards spline drives. I've had a set on my Miata for 6 years. No rust.

Yea right, they would never do that! Only true quality vendors like M7, ALTA, Helix, etc. would start threads like that because they have nothing to hide!

I want a torch (on fire) smiley!

Me? On the payroll? Hahaha, you must not have read many of the PU threads

I'm one of the big advocates of getting answers from PU and having them change their buisness practices. But, I'm simply giving the other side a chance to voice their positive opinions before i arrive at my opinion.

In attempt to get answers from them in an another thread...i sat and organized a bulleted list of questions i would like answered from them. In that thread, they ignored the questions and never provided answers. I then sent a copy of the questions via PM and although we exchanged PM's back and forth, no answers were ever given.

Thank you Crashton. Oh, and yes, you can remove me from the happy customer list. It's irritating that this product just can't hold up, and I have to go buy new stuff. Oh yes, I forgot to mention the key is molding itself to the socket... I'll never get it out... so I'm out a 19mm socket.

you'll be happy with McGard SplineDrives. Be sure to get the real ones...not the POS imitations by Gorilla (same company PU sources their uber-crap from)

Nope....not trying to justify any buying habits either.

I feel that PU is offering many faulty products and that the lies they advertise constantly are upsetting many cusomers. People voiced the counter opinion that there were plenty of happy customers (including PU who claimed around 150 happy NAM customers)...and someone said we should start a thread for the happy customers. I felt that i should give the other side a chance out of fairness.....

I am now just trying to give this thread enouugh attention so that i can derive accurate information from it. It will be stronger for my argument if i can say that this thread was up for 10 days with very few responses rather than letting it die instantly.

I thank you for your concern, but i believe you are mistaken in believing that I am in some way trying to justify PU's behavior or that of my own.

I had suggested that a thread like this be started since I was accused of just having it in for PU. Seems like the thread proved what I knew it would. I can't say I'm surprised nary a word was heard from PU.

To me it looks like there "happy customers" like myself do not spend the hours on the net, like all the naysayer's that have it in for them.

I would love to see the average post count of a Palo Uber customer and I am sure it is well under 100.

Yet you have 935 post...hmmmm. Btw, break time is over, Mr. Uber would like to see you in his office.

That's why i have been bumping it regularly. Out of 150, you don't think atleast a few would have taken some time to come on NAM atleast once in the past 7 days? It takes one minute tops to make a post....that doesn't require hours on the net.

Seems like quite a stretch to try saving PU's rep this time. I'm sure there are more than 3 happy customers....but i doubt its the 150 they claim.

Rally, with "Members: 39,452" here on NAM 150 happy ones to me surely is possible.

I for one am happy they continue to make parts, that no one else has. I may even upgrade to the new carbon fiber rear lip. Just need to stop spending all my money on wheels

But you're telling me that absolutely none of the 147 have looked through General MINI talk in the last week?

Since you brought it up, I'm just curious which parts you're reffering to? While browsing their web catalog the only one that comes close to that description is the spoiler add-on. It can be bought from japan...but i guess you could make the argument of shipping/customs etc.

I dont think the problem that most people have with PU is that they are designing products for the MINI, and although most of us think their prices are too high that isnt the main concern either. PU sells products that their customers are, for the most part, unhappy with and they do nothing to combat this fact. Around here you know when people are unhappy with a product because they start a thread about it or post the discontent, but you may not see the happy customers. That was the purpose of this thread, but I dont believe it is doing well in its endeavors. So the end result is that not only do people associate PU with poor customer service and shoddy workmanship, but their is also a taint on NAM's vendor base as a whole. Sure PU pays for their vendor status, but the feeling is that anyone can become a vendor on NAM and screw people over. Personally it irks me that NAM moderation (this may have happened behind the scenes but obviously to no avail) has done anything about the many members that are unhappy with a vendor that they allow on their site. just my long .02

Honestly I would have no knowledge of Palo Uber and their products, good or bad, without the internet. There may have been some small mention of them in an issue of MC2, but not near the publcity that other vendors get. So it would be rather unfair to say their customers spend any more or less time online than any other potential customers. There may be more satisfied, actually I'm sure of it since it's nearly impossible to run a business with a customer base of three people, but any business will have a few satisfied customers. The problem I see with Paulo Uber is that they parade about as a premium product vendor but in reality are no better than companies such as SS Autochrome. If one's going to claim they have a superior product then it better not have a failure/flaw rate as high as it appears to be here.

Does 60% happy count.

I have bought two items from them, their spolier lip and the CF hood scoop. Both of which I bought at their "NAM" specials, so less then "list" prices. I very much like their lip and the quality was as described with the mounting being very straight forward. The CF spolier, well not so much. The CF finish was good, but the mounting took me some time to get it the way I was satisfied with, which included buying longer stainless steel screws to attach it with. I called many times with some of my concerns, always found a human voice on the other end, but after several calls about the fit on the scoop, I was offered a new one which would be a "later production run". Well, that was several months back and I'm still waiting.

I'm not too concerned though, as I was able to get the original one fitted to my satisfaction, but it is kind of poor customer service to offer a new one then never come through on it.

So I guess I'm on the PU fence, if there is such a thing

Thanks, Gene

I kind of like the lip - I took a look at one installed on a local MCS recently and realised that the profile is almost identical to the the E-Bay special that I got for my step-sons Nissan for $26 shipped to my door.

A quick search gave me this obviously this is not quite identical, but the one that I got for the Nissan was flexible enough to run around the edge of the MCS spoiler - just a bit too long and I was not feeling too creative, hence I did not order a second one.
