MINI Wins at VIR but .... fails Post Race Tech

Just as the title says ... MINI Wins at VIR but .... fails Post Race Tech. Collin did a great job qualifying and setting a great first stint to take 52 in a great spot. Failing post race tech puts the 52 and the bottom of the field. But the team had other issues as well, unfortunately one car ended up not having the correct amount of driver time by a very small amount (calculated drive time does not include time spent in the Pits). And the third car in the garage suffered a little nose damage.

On the bright side, no CV Boot failures, and the cars were competitive. In my opinion BMW still has an advantage when it comes to BOP (Balance Of Performance) ... AND I won't go into any conspiracy theory or propagate any negativity, for the most part I think the IMSA BOP folks have done a great job, most notably when looking at the overall program.

All I can say is the MINI JOHN COOPER WORKS TEAM, LAP Motorsports won't be hanging their heads, it is back to the shop to repair and prep for the next race at the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

Motor On!

What was the post race tech failure?
