You really don't need to bother with air ducts when you run your caliper in that position....

Yuck yuck yuck...

I was thinking the same thing since I don't really use the brakes, they only slow you down!

Hey s-driver,

The backing plate brackets did not clear the rotors so a little "modification" was employed using a ball pean hammer... Drivers side hose touchs the half shaft just slightly, no issue's on the pass side.

Looks good. Now you just need some more rally lights.

I can't remember the last time I saw your brake lights come on at the track.

Hi, I just got a GP 1491, and had observed this similar set up in my brake cooling system but it was disconnected, can you share any additional photos you did on the project, how did you connect the orange ducting to your bumper?

No, don't really have any other pictures to post. The kit comes with the inlet pcs to replace the fog lights if you had them, which of course the GP doesn't. All I had to do was enlarge the hole to match the size of the flange - done with a dremmel.

As for where to place duct, here's what SSS has found, "that the rotor is what cools the caliper. There are veins built into the rotor to cool the rotor and blow on the caliper. The rotor is the main heat sink for the brake system that’s why we cool it and not the caliper."

FYI, sneed speed r56 brake duct kit was $448 . I did the math and the parts added to only $280 , I ordered the rotor duct piece and 7' of 2" pipe for under $150 shipped and plan to hook up to stock brake duct on my 13 clubbie saving a lot and losing my fog light.

Btw I told Chris at sneed and the price for kit is now only $275.99 , I suggested $275 lol. He said price of hose came down a lot.

Ill take pics .

Hi, any chance you have pics of the kit? I know this is an old thread...
