Come'on SpeedTV ... Jetta TDI Challenge but no MINI Challenge?

SpeedTV's running a few hours of the races right now that I'm watching off & on (more off than on... just missed the end of the last race ). I long to see the MINI Challenge races instead, as opposed to seeing them as crappy quality Internet streams of snippets of the races.

I guess it's because the TDI Challenge is running in North America but MINI challenge isn't?

I watched the Jetta TDI challenge today, and it was really entertaining! Those cars are all tightly packed, and they're rubbin'. I saw some really excellent crashes.

Fun stuff. Yes, it would be great to see the MINI challenge, but it isn't likely because they don't race on our continent... Bummer.

If you ask me, there's plenty of shows on Speed that have nothing to do with racing. Couldn't they show more racing from around the world, like the MINI challenge or some rally racing, instead of Two Guys Garage or Truck U? Those shows would be better suited on Spike TV's Powerblock, anyway...

AMEN.

I seen the one at VIR, it was an exciting race.
Agree with MINI challenge, I still have not seen a full race of it.

You are soooo RIGHT!

But remember this is SPEED (a.k.a. the NASCAR Channel - also home to such stellar Pimp My Ride shows as Unique Whips, Livin the Low Life, Hot Import Nights, etc.)

Frankly, if it were not for F1, some ALMS, and the occasional road race event (i.e. SCCA Runoffs, WTC) I would dump SPEED...

Additionally, SPEED always tends to usually air these events (excepting F1 & ALMS) at odd hours of the night like 3 AM!!!  Well, I guess that's what the DVR is for...

I get so tired (bored to death) with their programming...

Bring on the racing (road) and dump the extraneous stuff (how many hours of Barrett-Jackson can you take)...

I would love to see the MINI Challenge on SPEED... but I must resign myself to the reality that it probably will never happen.

That's my take on it... :)

Bah I despise the TDI cup. Its another rich boy racing program that VW is making decent money off of. I have nothing against the racers, in fact I race karts with one of them (tyler brokeheimer). I just dont like seeing a press release from VW saying this is a for the racer event to find young talent but talking to racers it costs around 50k+ to race in it, without any crashing. Crashing is a deductible system, one scratch on a bumper is 5k, 2nd scratch is 10k, 3rd is 15k and you get kicked off. Nobody runs a series truly for the young upcoming racers that dosent cost insain amounts of money and I find it very frustrating.

Mini Challenge would be a million times more entertaining than TDI cup. The Mini Challenge is made up of a bunch of mad european racers out for blood. And european racing is oohhhhh so much crazier than racing here in the states. European style driving is so much less limited by rules and stewards. They block bump push block some more, it looks so damn fun.

Sorry to vent but it was long overdue.

And remember most MINI Challenge races are support races for the F1 races so Bernie has to make sure he gets his monies worth for the broadcast rights.....

Well, even if there are penalties for crashing in this Jetta TDI cup series, that hasn't seemed to make much of a difference. The races I watched were full of rubbin', bumping, crashing, 2-wheel stunt show driving, etc.

I was pleasantly surprised and entertained.

Now, if I could only get SPEED in HD!!!

To make this a bit more clear. You will pay 5k deductible for the first accident. They consider an accident a scratch or dent in your bumper up to a totaled car. So if for your first accident you totaled your car your only out 5k but if some ass hat brakes too late and puts a dent in your rear bumper (no matter the size) your at strike 1 and minus 5k. Shitty system to make sure they dont loose any money on this deal.
