DFIC and scoop legality question

I have had a blast competing in STX this year but keep getting the urge to mount up some R compounds and run DSP in the future. Contemplating what additional mods are available in DSP and I could do over the winter to compete with a fast Suby in my region.

The M7 DFIC would be legal in DSP but the hood scoop would not, correct? Wouldn't the scoop bump you into SM?

One of you smart folks has to have an opinion. Hmmmm?

Could you close the hood without putting the scoop in...I don't think so and even if you could what good would it do without the increased air flow.

It says you can't...so you cant. 15.1B
Any modification not specifically authorized by the Stock Category or Street Prepared rules is prohibited. No unauthorized modifications are permitted in order to accommodate authorized modifications (e.g., non-stock hood scoops or holes necessary for carburetor clearance).

A hood scoop will put you in SM. Forget about being nationally competitive there.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions. Yeah, I played in SM in my WRX and I can't see the MINI ever being competitive there. I'll probably run it in DSP over the winter and switch back to STX next season. We'll see.
