Race Seat & airbag light

I would like to add a race seat to my car but I am aware of a couple of issues, both concerning the side airbags;
- Is there a way to reprogram the car so it knows that the seat side bags are not present, therefore the light stays off? I know European Mini's aren't equipped with the side bags so I am assuming the program/code is out there.
- I have read of people using a resistor set-up to fool the sensor, but I have also read that this affects the deployment force of the bags. Anyone add to this?
I'd rather not be switching seats in and out after every Solo I session, but neither do I want the dash looking like a Christmas tree in day to day driving.
Can anyone offer any suggestions?
TIA.

yep, the dealer can turn the light off... but my service advisor told me its a major PITA... so i left mine just on... they say to deactivate it... you need to sign some wavier about how if you crash and die and it was a result of the missing airbag they are not gonna be responsible and that it'd take about 4-6 weeks at bare minimum....

i have the resistor mod.... but i havent tried restarting computer...

Thanks Kyriian. My dealership have told me that the option to re-code the car so it accepts that it doesn't have seat bags isn't possible, as it is a different software version to the European cars. I guess I'll just have to get used to looking at the light.
