2015 MC Engine Recall

Hi Folks...

I have a leased 2015 Mc hardtop pretty much stock. manual trans. My lease is up and my dealer Bob Smith Mini was going to lease me a new Mini but my credit wasn't good enough.. had a few dings on my credit last year. So they offered me to finance the rest of my residue pay out at 29% ?! The car has 13 k miles on it.

I don't have much of a choice since I cant re-lease a new one. I took the car in for its scheduled service and they told me I have an engine recall due to Crank Shaft bearings. I don't know what to do? I called Mini Financial and they don't know anything about this recall... is this some kind of scam?
Am i financing a high priced lemon?! It only has 13k miles on a 2015....
Has anyone had their engine replaced?
Is it worth it?

The recall is legit. Lots of info here on the forum. 29% is nuts, either they are stealing or your credit history has more than a few dings, more like major dents.

What is the residual amount? The engine replacement should be zero charge to you.

the residue amount is 13k. But they want to tak on an extended warranty for another 1200 or so. Dont know if I would need an extended watrantie and what it covers... they told me I should call mini financial ... mini financial says I need to talk to the dealer.

Yea I know Engine is free...just wondering if the car could become problematic after a new engine? Or am I getting a new car for 13k?

The engine is probably covered for two years after install. I'd skip the warranty. $13K for that car is a deal. If you have any problems after the engine replacement it would probably show up pretty soon so you would be able to have it taken care of by MINI.

Transmission/clutch and related parts or a complete electric failure. Haven't really seen anyone posting about F56 major problems however.

Don't sweat the new engine. Think of it as a plus. They replaced mine a couple years ago, so now I have a 27000 mile car with a 17000 mile engine.

My understanding is that by late 2016, all production had engines with fix, so recall would not apply.
