My sons mini s just popped up a code P143C Powertrain code. Car runs fine. Can't seem to find anything inparticular about this code. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I did some looking around, and it seems like it has to do with a radiator temp sensor going bad. The sensor is built in to the radiator.

According to this post there seems to be some discrepancy between what the dealer knows and what universal OBDII code readers pull from the cars computer.

Also mentions in that thread that it seems to go away and come back after some time, however it shouldn't effect how the car drives. This post also has some good info on the radiator, assuming that it's just another BMW part.

hey, correct on this one! Took my car to the dealer today, it was R/R under warranty. sensor in the radiator failed. So not too shabby, new radiator!

So a sensor in the radiator fails and the entire thing needs replaced??? Pretty dumb.

I had to have my radiator replaced 2 years ago. Road debris put a hole in it.

Cost to replace radiator $1318.11
