2016 F55 S idle control: speed to high issue
Hoping for a little help
Two weeks ago the Yellow check engine light appeared on my 2016 F55 S (5500 miles and about 6 months old). I pulled the code using the Carley for BMW app. The fault code on the report reads..
Engine / Motor: - Fault: :Idle control: speed too high - Code: 1E0001
and although I doubt related.
Infotainment: - Fault: sorry, unknown DTC fault - Code: 026303
A trip to the dealer resulted in the InterCooler having a leak due to a puncture. I was skeptical so I asked for a picture to which the dealer provided me with one. There was certainly an impact but, I had to rely on the dealer to tell me that is what was causing an issue. Mini corporate would not warranty the InterCooler due to the impact so I had to pay the bill which was $1000 plus for parts and labor.
Today the engine light triggered again with the same code. I've called the dealer and will take it in tomorrow.
Wondering if anyone has had an similar type of issue and what the resolution was.
I appreciate any help anyone could provide.

Your high idle was certainly likely due to the vacuum leak via the intercooler puncture (i.e.- unmetered air). Hopefully you didn't encounter the same situation and kill yet another intercooler! More likely is that a hose clamp has come loose and it is more of a 'simple' air leak, which the dealer should be on the hook for repairing for free (i.e.- workmanship issue).
Sorry for not having any code related info and hope you get a quick fix.

My scanner shows this:
Release Version : V50.52
ECU IDENTIFY : S66309 - RAD
Diagnosis Index : 0F1CD0
Supplier : Not Supported
Production Date (Day, Month, Year): 19.04.16
DTC Qty (1)
- 026303 External SWT Test Condition Not Met - Intermittent
I think when delaler worked on the rear shocks, maybe they didn't disconnect the battery before remove the shock's cable. Similar story could of been when dealer replaced mirror which included rain/light sensor and they also removed steering wheel to replace clock spring but they had to disconnect the battery as air bag needed to be removed...maybe tech didn't! I cleared these codes today and I will re-scan in the coming days to see if my assumptions are correct or I will need to go to the dealer(still under warranty)
