How many failed HPFPs? Enough to investigate?

When you about to lose power/studder, do you hear a clicking noise coming from the engine compartment?
I've had the HPFP replaced 3 times in the 2012 Countryman S All4 and the coils replaced as well by the dealership under the extended warranty. Now, the car will still studder and produce a clicking noise, but not throw any codes. Typically this happens when the car is going up a slight grade, 3-4,000 RPM and 35 mph (don't quote me on these figures as I'm going from memory).
My concern is the car is showing the same symptoms, but not throwing codes and the extended warranty expires in a few months. Replaceing the HPFP seems to be pretty expensive, so thinking hard about selling the car...

I think I'm begining to see symptoms.
On cold start it'll be a rough/jerky idle, then be good for basically the rest of the day.
The MINI dealer near me said they basically wont replace it until it fails, or meets specific diagnostics of codes...
Is this true? Or should I try another dealer?

HPFP for my 3/2012 Countryman S has a factory warranty through 120,000 miles or until March of 2022.
You can call with the last 7 of your VIN to confirm that it's warrantied for the full 10yr/120k.
Mine typically throws codes when I'm off the gas and coasting in gear. It's incredibly repeatable. It never codes when accelerating.

+1 ^^ call the dealer first to check.
If you are out of warranty, we just added some lower cost direct manufacture options. We have them for all the MINI Gen 2 HPFP now. R60 and R61 fitment also, just look at the years in the redlines. https://www.ecstuning.com/News/MINI_...el_Pump_22527/

Few days ago I get this fun stuff again from Carly app:
002F7C Super knocking: injection shutdown
002BE9 Cylinder inection shutdown: pressure too low in high-pressure system
002C01 High-pressure fuel, plausibility: pressure to low
002F76 Super knocking cylinder 1: injection shutdown
Might be time to take this thing in for a third HPFP replacement. I'm just over 80k miles and about 9 years 3 months of age...

Nope, just a touchy design that likes to fail. I had my pump last over 118K now (Genuine MINI) and some genuine HPFP last 50K. I have not let my gas run low and that might have bought my HPFP some extra life as it did not let small particle get picked up by the pump and work past the filter.
Waterpump is plastic that went to metal. A quick look tells you.
