Timing chain

Hi, Wifes 2009 JCW clubman with 45.666 miles has timing chain failure! Was checked and told OK by Mini dealer 20.000 miles ago! Has anybody had MINI USA help with repairs, since class action suit has run out?

Thanks, Mike

not sure if the dealer would help, but even of they do, the might cover half the cost which will be higher than if you rebuild the engine. If the issue is just bent valves, besides time, the cost is pretty cheap to get it done.

Thanks for input! That was my feeling as far as what MINI dealer could/would do. Kind of a shame when we bought the car new and if anything it has been over serviced.
We are car people ( old British, German, Japanese, American cars) some bought new most well used, never had a complete failure that we couldn't fix to at least get home. Then have a company/dealer that denies they had a great big problem and are forced by the courts to put on a bandaid fix, as it is clear it should have been a blanket recall! Oh-Well, I'll pull it apart and fix it.

They do drive well when running!

Thanks, Mike

think you're going to have to suck it up and pay out. it's too late for the soft recall. I got it on my JCW from the dealer 4 years ago. You can try appealing to MINI.
