Can I get some brake advice?

Can I get some brake advice?
My front brakes need to be replaced. It's $650 at the mechanic that we know and trust, but hubs has been doing his own brakes for many years.
Can anyone suggest a decent set of cost effective aftermarket brake pads, rotors, and sensors?
Virtually all of my driving is heavy traffic commuting. No track or anything like that.
THANKS!

I assume that you have the JCW 4 piston brakes. ECS has a genuine MINI service kit for about $300.

My husband -- after consulting with our mechanic -- got the drilled and slotted aftermarket brakes that are total overkill since 90% of my driving is in heavy traffic.
And then my vacuum lines collapsed. I LOVE my car, enough to keep her going for 90+K miles, but she is an expensive girlfriend!

LOL This is perfect timing. My brake light just went on at 57K on my 11 JCW. So you raised some good points. Maybe just do the front rotors and pads all around.
I was going to go to ECS and get rotors around, front drilled / slotted, EBC yellow pads and after market sensors. But maybe go OEM sensors. Right? Why screw with sensors. But I'm not tracking. Just want the extra slotted power.
Front Cross Drilled & Slotted Brake Rotors - Pair 12.44" (316x22) 239.95
Rear Brake Rotors - Pair 11.02" (280x10) 62.76
EBC Yellowstuff Brake Pad Set 105.79
Brake Pad Sensor - Front 7.67
Brake Pad Sensor - Rear 7.76
