Traction Control

I was recently at an event trying to see what the JCW can do on the strip(1/4 mile). However im having issues with the traction control

First gear...Launch...Car goes
2nd gear...hold it right there, ignition goes off...wait 2-3 seconds till engine kicks in again..Go

This happened a few times - why is the traction control intervening so badly when its supposed to be off?

I know it has a 2 stage traction control, but I switched it fully off with the triangle warning appearing.

Anyone elses JCW doing the same?
