Just curious if anybody has run into any problems at all in regards to adding an aftermarket intake to a factory JCW.

Without a tune, I'm just worried that the car may become tempermental / flash lights / run lean, and before I make the large purchase, I just want to know that there wouldn't be any sort of problems.

 

I have a 2009 factory JCW. I have been running the Alta intake for over a year now. I do not have a tune or anything done to the car. I have had no problems or warning lights come on in my car at all. I like the sound of the intake and you can hear the woosh sound when the the turbo vents. Easy install and no issues. I give it my two thumbs up

 

There are many that claim the hot underhood air will cause a loss of low end torque

A drop in Alta filter gives the woosh sound and keeps the low end torque

 

I've had the Alta CAI for over 3 years now, it's been great. I haven't had any problems. It's easy to install and clean. Great sound and I've had compliments on it from coworkers and one time from a random guy at a stoplight.
