Dealer installed JCW strut tower brace broken after service

The car is a 2011 Cooper S but I figured I would get a better response here. I took the car into the dealer to get serviced and they changed the thermostat and auxiliary water pump due to an overheating issue (po597) I picked the car up and everything seemed fine until I hit a bump and heard a very loud bang, I checked the car over when I got home and found that my JCW strut tower brace had broken off the mounting lug on the passenger side of the bar. I have removed and reinstalled the center of the bar several times while on the ground and there was no preload on the bar, it was centered on the mounting holes and could be removed easily. When I noticed that the bar was broken I also noticed that there was between an inch and a half inch of overlap and I didn't set it that way. the drivers side bolt (allen head) was all chewed up because someone had used a torx driver to remove it and all 3 of the strut bolts on the drivers side were no more than finger tight. I think what happened was the dealer jacked the car up on a lift with the wheels a full droop, pulled the bar and then found it wouldn't fit, so they adjusted it and bolted it back together then set it on the ground loading the bar up, then when I hit the bump it just gave. The question I have is has anyone else broken a JCW strut tower brace?
