clutch in RPM's decrease super slow

So is it a heavy flywheel or the computer that defines how slow the RPM's decrease when you put the clutch in to shift gears? I think they drop really slow which makes fast shifting horribly unsmooth. I'm sure I'm just used the the fidanza on my mark 1 MR2, but then I showed it to a co-worker and he thought the RPM's dropped slow too. Anyone else?

I think it is the flywheel which is rather heavy and this makes the rpms stay high quite long. The clutch also has a rather high engagement point as well which also can contribute to the shifting issues.
