Has anyone installed different exhaust tips on their factory JCW?

Has anyone installed a different exhaust tip on their factory JCW? I know that you'd have to cut the existing tips off and either use bolts, like on the factory JCW tips, or have new ones welded on. Is it worth the trouble?

I know this thread is a year 1/2 old, but I am wondering the same thing.

I got some tips to put on my JCW Clubman and was sorely disapointed when I found out they don't fit. The dealer had no idea they wouldn't fit either! I had to enlighten them...

Has anyone been successful in mounting these to a factory JCW?

Thanks!

It's impossible to put different tips on a factory JCW exhaust since factory JCW exhausts do not have tips. They just have fat pipes.

Why would you want to change a perfectly awesome tailpipe?

The tailpipe is awesome, but I want the chrome back there! My goal would be to keep the size of the pipe the same, just add a chrome outer shell over the existing pipe.

I love the way my JCW sounds, and I would NEVER sacrifice sound for looks. So if it is imposible to do with out changeing the size of the pipe, well then I guess I'll just have to make do with the plain pipes.

Oh, it seems in the UK you get the JCW chrome exhaust tips with the factory JCW. They, for some reason, didn't make it work with the US spec car...

you can shine them up with silver polish but i have noticed that the coating or whatever it is that shines is quite thin because the bottom of the tip is already worn off.
