What aftermarket intake did you use on your 09 JCW

Hello All
I should be getting my 09 JCW in the next 4 weeks and trying to figure out what is the best intake...I am looking at Alta and M7....I would really like some feedback from those of you who have changed there intake and I would like to hear the good & bad.

Used Alta

I put on Alta CAI, boost tubes, and turbo intlet hose and I'm thrilled! It pulls like no tomorrow. Waiting on my Borla exhaust to get here this week to finish it all off. Install was very easy in my opinion but I am rather mechanically inclined. If doing boost tubes as well, take off air box before installing upper boost tube and install lower boost tube from the bottom. Much easier install this way. Getting the stock airbox or even the CAI filter out of the way makes the boost tube in the rear a snap.

Thanks guy.....we have a custom shop with a lift so it should be a snap. Did you add a BOV? I heard with the Alta CAI you hear the blow off pretty well. I have a Twin Turbo Vette and love the blow off sound....

I am glad you like the Alta CAI...I was hoping for positive feedback

No I didnt add the BOV, but you can hear the sound from the waste gate very well. Sounds slick. Lift will no doubt ease the process but mainly take the airbox or CAI filter off and the upper boost tube is there free for the taking. The directions that come with the Alta are spot on.

Thanks for the info....I just ordered the CAI/Boost Tube upgrade kit/Turbo inlet hose/Boost Gauge & mount and a stubby 4" antenna. I really want to order the cross coil overs......I love my cars slammed and think puttingthe JCW aero kit on and all these other goodies should keep me busy for the weekend...

You know that the JCW aero kit doesnt come painted right? It comes only primed. Not saying you are dumb just wanted to make sure you know this because I didnt until I read it here and then went and looked at the build site again in the fine print and sure enough it was there. I was considering the JCW Aero until I learned this fact and that it would cost another grand or so to get it pained/installed which apparently is a bit of a pain from what I have read here. I chose the factory painted aero kit and I am very happy with it and how it looks.

Has anyone tried the Race/RamAir intake from DDMWorks? https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...0/limit/recent
Seems pretty cool since you open up the hood scoop and put it to good use.

I already have the JCW kit...to bad I dont have the car. Thats me spraying the parts, they came out great. We have a custom paint shop.

Also, the install is not complicated at all. The bumpers remove quite easy and the side sills are easy to install.
